A revolution that does not produce a new space has not realized its full potential.

Henri Lefebvre

New Space. What is it? Is it that three-dimensional, ever expanding and changing realm in which all material exists? Or is it the space that is brought to life only by the existence of the evolving human body within it? New space posits that old space, or the space of the now, is ever in flux and that New Space can/must exist - even if it is only in the mind of the creator, designer or architect.

Throughout his life, Jacob has traveled the world in search of "New Space". In 2009 he ventured to Northern India as the Roger Bailey Traveling Fellow to study the unique culture of India and to search for the intangible architectural qualities of a very tangible and tactile India. Jake also teaches at the University of Utah's School of Architecture; focusing on foundation design and the process of making.

Because of his foreign travel, architectural experience and involvement in academia, Jacob brings a unique perspective, vigor of exploration and technical knowledge to the practice of architecture; and has established himself as an award winning designer.
